Dry Malay Curry

  • Cauliflower
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 sour apple, chopped
  • 1 pint shrimp, boiled
  • Slices of cold cooked mutton, about 1/2 inch thick
  • 2 ounces butter
  • 1 large Tbsp curry powder
  • 4 Tbsps lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
Pick a cauliflower into small pieces and wash them. Knead the butter with the curry powder and salt. Put the butter, chopped onions and apple into a stew pan. Fry until brown. Add the cauliflower and shrimps. Shake the saucepan frequently. Let it simmer for about an hour and a half so that it may be heated through. Add the lemon juice. Place the slices of mutton around the dish with the cauliflower and shrimp mixture in the middle. Serve very hot with a separate dish of boiled rice.
