Apple Pie
- 1 cup light bread dough
- 3 ounces butter
- Apples, thinly sliced
- Water
- Sugar
- Nutmeg, grated
Work 2 ounces of butter in the bread dough. Fill a deep dish with the sliced apples and put a little water on them.
Roll out the crust just to cover the dish. Bake until the apples are soft. With a knife, lift the crust off. Lay it upside down on a plate a little larger than the crust.
Mash the apples with the back of a spoon in the dish they were baked in. Put an ounce of butter in and sugar to taste. Stir together well and spread on the crust. Grate nutmeg across the top.
Serve with cream.
