Prune Pudding

  • 1 pint milk
  • 1 heaping Tbsp cornstarch
  • Sugar
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tsp butter
  • Nutmeg, grated
  • 1 cup prunes, stoned & stewed
Heat a little more than a pint of milk to the boiling point. Gradually stir in a little chilled milk in which the cornstarch has been added, rubbed smooth. Add sugar to taste, the well-beaten eggs, butter and a little grated nutmeg. Let the mixture come to a boil. Add the stewed prunes. Pour into a buttered pudding dish. Bake with love for 15-20 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Serve with or without sauce.
