Maple Walnuts

  • 1 egg whitePowdered sugar
  • Walnut meat
  • 2 Tbsps maple sugar
  • 1 Tbsp water
Beat the egg white to a stiff froth and stir enough powdered sugar to make it like hard frosting. Dip the walnut meat, which have been removed from the shells without breaking, in syrup. To make the syrup, boil for 2-3 minutes the maple sugar in water. Press some of the hard frosting between the 2 halves of the walnut and let it harden.

Dates may be prepared in the same manner and butternuts and English walnuts also.
