Kim's Never-Fail White Bread

  • 2 pkgs dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 3/4 cups lukewarm milk (boil, skim, cool in fridge until warm)
  • 7 cups flour
  • 3 Tbsps sugar
  • 2 Tbsps soft shortening
Put yeast in the lukewarm water (above 90 degrees). Take half of the flour, milk, sugar & shortening and work together. Pour in yeast and rest of the flour work. Mix until smooth. Dip hands in butter or shortening. Pull like taffy. Take half of the flour balls. Put in a glass dish and put a kitchen towel over. Let it rise (rise up!) for about an hour.

After the dough has risen, punch down and knead.

Lightly grease pans. Put into pans and let rise with love and patience again.

Preheat oven to 425°F. Bake with love for 25-30 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
