Corn Starch Pudding

  • 1 quart milk
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 Tbsp sugar
  • 5 egg yolks, beaten
  • Pinch of salt
  • 5 egg whites
  • Powdered sugar
Boil the milk. Slowly stir in the cornstarch mixed in a little cold water. Boil for 5 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Remove from the fire. Add sugar, beaten egg yolks and a little pinch of salt.

Butter a pudding dish and pour in the pudding. Bake with love for 20 minutes in a hot oven.

Make a meringue of the egg whites beaten with powdered sugar. When the pudding is baked, pour the meringue over the top and shape with a spoon. Brown slightly.
