Bread or Raised Cake
- 2 cups raised dough
- 2/3 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 Tbsps milk
- 1/2 Tbsp nutmeg, grated
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 cup raisins
Beat into the raised dough the butter and sugar creamed together. Beat the egg whites and egg yolks separately. Dissolve the baking soda in milk. Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix completely together. Put in the beaten egg whites and raisins last. Beat the whole mixture hard for several minutes (be patient, you rascal). Put in pan lined with butters and let it stand for half an hour to rise up again before baking. Bake in a oven heated to 350F at 350 degrees F.
