Apple Custard

  • 6 tart apples, pared & cored
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 1 quart milk
Cook the apples whole in a syrup of sugar and water until tender. Butter a pudding dish and lay the apples in the bottom.

Beat the egg yolks and stir them in the milk. Add sugar to taste. Pour the mixture over the apples.

Bake with love for half an hour.
