Apple Cake
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tsps baking powder
- 3 Tbsps shortening
- 1 egg
- About 1 cup milk
- Apples
- Sugar
Sift together the salt, flour and baking powder. Rub in the shortening and mix to a light dough with the beaten egg and milk. Roll out about half an inch thick and lay on a greased, shallow baking pan. Pare and core the apples. Cut into eighths. lay the pieces on the dough and delicately sprinkle with sugar to taste. Bake about 30 minutes in a oven heated to 350F at 350°F. Serve hot with whipped cream.
