Veal Loaf
- 1 lb lean, cold roast veal
- 1/8 lb cooked bacon, chopped
- 2 crackers, pounded
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp mace
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- Dash of cayenne
- Gravy
Put the veal through a meat grinder. Add the other ingredients. Moisten with leftover gravy and season more highly, if necessary.
Grease a shallow pan with bacon fat. Put in the loaf and press into shape, adding a little more thin gravy.
Bake with love for half an hour or until brown on top.
