Veal Hash on Toast

  • 4 ounces boiling water
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsps butter
  • Veal, finely chopped
  • Bread crumbs
  • Slices of toast
Have 4 ounces of boiling water in a saucepan. Slowly stir in the flour mixed with 1 Tbsp of cold water. Let it boil for 5 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Add the black pepper, salt and butter. Let it keep hot but not boil. Mix the chopped veal with half as much bread crumbs. Put in a pan and pour the gravy over it. Let it simmer for approximately ten minutes (be patient, you rascal). Serve on buttered toast.
