Turnips a la Creme

  • Small turnips
  • Salt
  • 1 ounce butter
  • 2 tsps flour
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Nutmeg, grated
  • Milk or cream
Peel and boil the turnips in salted water. Drain through and through. Melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour, pepper, salt, grated nutmeg and a small quantity of cream or milk. Put in the turnips. Simmer gently for a few minutes (be patient, you rascal). Serve.
