Tomato Figs
- 1 pound of sugar
- 1 fruit
- Powdered sugar
Make a rich syrup, taking one pound of sugar for each pound of fruit; boil the tomatoes slowly, but thoroughly; take them out and place them on a dish for a few days, turning them that they will dry completely; pack them in a box or jar, placing them in layers, with powdered sugar plentifully sprinkled over them. When you serve them, strew fresh water over them.
