Sugar Candy

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
Dissolve the baking soda in hot water. Put all of the above ingredients in a shallow pan. Add the butter last with the dissolved baking soda. Cook quickly, without stirring, for about an hour or until it crisps in cold water. Pull while quite hot, with buttered finger tips, and continue pulling until the candy is white. Chop into small pieces.
