Small Apple Sauce Cakes
- 1/2 cup shortening or butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup raisins, seedless
- 1 cup thick apple sauce
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsps cinnamon
- 2 tsps baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Cream sugar and shortening together. Add apple sauce. Mix and sift dry ingredients. Add to the first mixture. Slowly stir in the raisins. Bake in well greased muffin pans in a oven heated to 350F at 350 °F for 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
