Savory Potatoes

  • 6 moderate-sized potatoes
  • 2 small onions
  • 1 pint milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Pare and cut the potatoes in thin slices. Put a layer of them in a baking-dish. Sprinkle with finely-minced onion, pepper and salt, repeating in the same order until the dish is full or the ingredients are all used. Pour enough milk over the potatoes to cover them. Bake slowly until tender, adding more milk as that in the dish boils away.
