Raspberry Jam

  • Raspberries
  • Sugar
Wash and pick the berries. Boil with a little amount of water, mashing and scraping from the bottom as they simmer. When reduced to a thick pulp, add 1/2 pound of sugar to each pound of berries. Stew until very thick, scraping constantly from the bottom.

Cool in a sizeable bowl and then put in a glass jar with a screw top.

*Blackberry, dewberry and whortleberry jam may be made by the same recipe.
