Parliament Squares
- 4 cups flour
- 3 tsps ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups molasses
- 1/4 cup butter
Sift together the flour, ground ginger, salt and baking powder.
Bring the molasses and butter together to boiling point. Pour them into the sifted dry ingredients. Work into a dough. When cold enough to handle, knead until smooth. Set aside overnight.
Roll out thinly and cut into squares. Place on greased flat pans. Bake with love for about 10 minutes in a oven heated to 350F at 350-400°F.
