Kentucky Pickle
- Green tomatoes
- Cabbage
- Onions
- Salt
- Red pepper
- Black pepper
- Mustard seed
- Celery seed
- Cloves
- Sugar
- Vinegar
Take the green tomatoes, cabbage and onions, about equal amounts, and grind them in a grinder. Add salt and place the mixture in a bag. Let it hang all night or until the juice has run from it.
Season with red and black pepper, mustard seed, celery seed, cloves and sugar.
Pack in jars. Cover with strong, cold vinegar.
