Indian Curry

  • 2 large Tbsps curry powder
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 2 tsps black pepper
  • 4 onions, very finely chopped
  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 1 1/2 lbs meat
  • 1/2 pint milk or stock
  • Lemon juice
Fry the chopped onions. Moisten the curry powder with water and put in a stew pan. Add the fried onions, salt, black pepper and butter. Let it stew for 20 minutes, stirring all the time to prevent from burning. Add the meat, cut into short, thick pieces, without fat. Add milk or stock to make the curry thick. Let it boil at once and then let it stew gently for 3-4 hours. When ready, add lemon juice.
