Ginger Snaps

  • 1 pint molasses
  • 4 ounces brown sugar
  • 4 ounces butter & lard mixed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 4 ounces ground ginger
  • Flour
Beat the molasses until it looks light and then add the sugar. Pour in the hot butter and lard, beaten egg and ground ginger.

Have the mixture lukewarm. Work the flour in briskly. Roll and bake quickly at 400°F.
