Ginger Nuts
- 1/2 lb butter
- 1/2 lb sugar
- 1 pint molasses
- 2 ounces ginger
- 2 Tbsps cinnamon
- Flour
- 1/2 ounce ground cloves & allspice, mixed
Stir the butter and sugar together. Add the spices, ginger, molasses and enough flour to form a dough. Knead it well and make it out into small cakes. Bake on tins in a very oven heated to 350F at 325°F. Wash them over with molasses and water before they are put in to bake.
