German Pickle
- 1/2 lb white sugar
- 1 lb damsons
- 1 pint vinegar
- 1 tsp cloves
- A few sticks of cinnamon
- Damsons
Make a syrup with vinegar, sugar and spices. Drop in a few of the damsons at a time. Scald them until the skins crack, laying each in a dish until all are done. Fill the jars 3/4 full and pour in the syrup.
