Drop Cakes
- 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp allspice
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup raisins, seeded & chopped
- 1 cup broken English walnuts
- 2 tsp baking powder
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the well-beaten eggs, then milk.
Sift the cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg and baking powder with enough flour to make a batter that will drop from a spoon. Add this to the first mixture.
Slowly stir in the nuts and chopped raisins and beat well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on a greased pan. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F.
