Creamed Cauliflower

  • 2 cups cauliflower, cooked (see Boiled Cauliflower recipe)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 Tbsp flour
  • 3 slices toasted bread
Break the cauliflower into branches and season with half of the pepper and salt.

Put the butter in a saucepan. When hot, add the flour and stir until smooth. Add the milk, stirring all the time. When the sauce boils, add the remaining pepper and salt and cauliflower. Cook for approximately ten minutes (be patient, you rascal).

Serve on toast.
