Caramel Ice Cream
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoon flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 quart thin cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
Caramelize one-half of the sugar and add the water. Cook to a syrup. Prepare a custard with the milk, remaining sugar, flour, egg, and salt. Remove from the heat, add the caramel and the cream, strain, add the vanilla, cool and freeze.
