Caramel Frosting
- 2 egg whites
- 1 cup light brown sugar firmly packed
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla
Put all of the above ingredients in the top boiler and mix well with rotary egg beater. Place over rapidly boiling water and beat constantly for 7 minutes or a little longer, until frosting stands in peaks. Remove from fire, add vanilla extract and beat until ready to spread. Cover with chopped nuts.
