Buckwheat Cake (without yeast)

  • 2 cups buckwheat flour
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tsps baking powder
Mix all of the above ingredients through and through. Add about the same amount of water and milk until the batter is of the right consistency. Stir constantly until free from lumps. If they do not brown well, add a moderate amount of molasses.
