Broiled Tomatoes
- Large, ripe tomatoes
- Butter
- Pepper
- Salt
Wash the tomatoes. Slice into two equal parts horizontally through the middle. Put on a gridiron with the cut side down over a clear fire. When partially cooked, turn them over. Finish with the skin side next to the fire.
Lay on a hot dish. Season with butter, pepper and salt.
