Bran Biscuits

  • Dry ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup bran
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 5 tsps baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsps sugar
  • Other:
  • 2 Tbsps melted shortening
  • 1/2 cup water
Mix thoroughly the dry ingredients. Add water to make soft dough. Add shortening; roll on flour-covered surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 400 degrees F 10-15 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
