Braised Ox Tail
- 2 lbs ox tail
- 1 cup carrots, cubed
- 1 cup white turnips, cubed
- 1/2 cup onion, finely minced
- 2 Tbsps salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- Parsley, chopped
- Cooked macaroni
- Cheese, grated
Use large tails. Divide at joints. Wash and wipe clean. Saute in fat in a hot pan. Cook pieces in 1 1/2 pints of water. Add cubed carrots and turnips and minced onion. Cook slowly in closely covered dish for 1 1/4 hours. Shortly before serving, add salt, pepper and a little chopped parsley. Serve the ox tails on a bed of cooked macaroni sprinkled with grated cheese. Strain sauce and pour atop dish.
