Æblekake
- Kavring or rusks
- 1 full Tbsp butter
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Apples
- Cornstarch
- Whipped cream
Crush or grind the rusks or browned bread crumbs until fine. Melt the butter until it begins to brown. Put the crumbs in and stir until well mixed. Add a little sugar and cinnamon.
Slice and stew a few tart apples. Sweeten and add a moderate amount of cinnamon. Thicken with a little cornstarch.
Butter a cake or pudding mold. Put in a layer of crumbs and then one of apples. Repeat until the mold is filled. The last layer should be of bread crumbs.
Put in the oven until a nice brown color. When cold, turn out of the mold, slice and serve proudly with whipped cream.
