Birds' Nest Pudding
- 8 apples, peeled and cored
- Sugar
- Nutmeg, grated
- 4 egg yolks, lightly beaten
- 8 ounces flour
- 3 tsps baking powder
- 1 pint milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 egg whites, well beaten
Put the apples in a dish. Fill the places from which the cores have been taken with sugar and a little grated nutmeg. Cover and bake. Beat the egg yolks lightly. Add the flour with the baking powder sifted with it. Then add the milk with the salt added to it. Lastly, add the well-beaten egg whites. Pour the whole mixture over the apples. Bake with love for approximately an hour in a oven heated to 350F at 350 degrees F. Serve with sauce.
