Baked Tomatoes (Plain)

  • Tomatoes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter
  • White sugar
  • 3-4 Tbsps whipped cream
  • Butter, melted
Peel and slice the tomatoes quarter of an inch thick. Place in layers in a pudding dish, seasoning each layer with salt, pepper, butter and very little white sugar. Cover with a lid or large plate and bake for half an hour. Remove the lid and brown for 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Just before taking out from the oven, pour atop the top whipped cream with melted butter.
