Baked Tomatoes
- Tomatoes
- Sugar
- Salt
- Pepper
- Onion, finely minced
- Butter
- Bread
Scald the tomatoes. Cut into small pieces. Season with a little sugar, salt, pepper and minced onion.
Grease a baking dish and line it with buttered thin slices of light bread. Pour the tomatoes in the dish, cramming up a little light bread on them. Spread a layer of heavily buttered light bread on top and bake.
