Baked Tomatoes
- 6 tomatoes
- Bread crumbs
- Pepper
- Salt
- Butter
Cut the tomatoes in halves and remove the pips. Fill the insides with a mixture of bread crumbs, pepper and salt in due proportions. Place a small piece of butter on each piece of tomato. Lay them close together in a heavily buttered tin. Bake in a slow oven at 300°F for about half an hour. Serve. They may be eaten hot or cold.
