Apple Squares
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup dairy sour cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 cups apples, peeled & finely chopped
Combine the flour, butter and sugar. Mix until crumbly. Add the nuts. Press 2-3/4 cups of this mixture into a 9x13-inch pan.
To the remaining crumb mixture, add cinnamon, baking soda, salt, sour cream, vanilla and egg. Blend well.
Slowly stir in the chopped apples. Spoon evenly over the crust.
Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
