Apple Sauce Cake
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsps baking powder
- 1 cup apple sauce
Beat the butter and sugar together. Add the milk, then the apple sauce, and lastly the flour, spices, baking powder and salt sifted together. Beat very thoroughly and bake in a moderate oven at 350° for 45 minutes. If liked, a cup of chopped seeded raisins may be added to the cake batter.
