Apple Pie Filling

  • Tart apples, cut into chunky pieces
  • Lemon rind
  • Nutmeg or cinnamon
  • Sugar
Cut the apples into chunky pieces rather than slices that they may cook better. Flavor with lemon rind and nutmeg or cinnamon, as preferred. Sweeten to taste, putting the sugar in the middle of the fruit, not on top of it lest it makes the crust soggy.
