Apple Float
- 5 egg whites, beaten to a stiff froth
- 5 heaping Tbsp powdered sugar
- Bowlful of apple sauce
- Sugar
- Lemon peel
- For the custard:
- 5 egg yolks
- 1 quart milk
Add powdered sugar to the beaten egg whites. Beat it in well. Add apple sauce, sweetened and flavored with lemon peel.
Heap in a glass dish. Pour the boiled custard around it made with the egg yolks and milk.
