Vienna Biscuits

  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp lard
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
Sift the baking powder and salt with the flour. Mix thoroughly with the butter and lard and wet with the milk.

Turn out on a floured bread board and knead smooth. Roll into a sheet half an inch thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter.

Bake at once in a quick oven at 400°F.
