The Ice Cream Cake

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sweet milk
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 of salt
  • Whites of 7 eggs
  • Frosting:
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
Cream the butter and sugar, add milk, sifted flour, baking powder and salt alternately. Fold in stiffly beaten whites.

Frosting:
Cook together until mixture threads and pour into stiffly beaten whites of 2 large eggs, adding flavoring.
