  • Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup cream
Break off the end that grew to the vine, pulling off at the same time the string upon the edge. Repeat the same process from the other end. Cut with a sharp knife into pieces half an inch long. Boil in just enough water to cover them. They usually require 1 hour of boiling but this depends on the age and freshness of the string beans. After they have boiled until tender and the water nearly boiled out, add pepper and salt, butter and cream. If you do not have cream, just add more butter.
