Steamed Graham Loaf

  • Dry ingredients:
  • 3 cups Graham flour
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Other:
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 1/2 cups sour milk
Sift together the dry ingredients. Add the molasses and milk. Beat with enthusiasm and turn into a buttered mold. Steam for 3 1/2 hours.

This recipe, cooked in pound baking powder cans, will make 4 loaves which can be reheated when required. Place the can on a frame in a kettle containing boiling water.
