Spaghetti
- 1/2 lb spaghetti
- Salt
- 1 small onion
- 2 blades mace
- 1 sweetbread, finely chopped or fresh veal
- 1 large spoonful butter
- 1/2 pint milk
- Grated cheese
- 1 tsp mustard
- 2 tsps black pepper
- 1 pint tomatoes
- 1 egg, beaten up (optional)
Boil the spaghetti in water with salt, onion and mace. Put in the chopped sweetbread or the same amount of veal. Boil until tender. Drain.
Add butter, milk, some grated cheese, mustard, black pepper, tomatoes and salt to taste. Adding 1 beaten egg is a great improvement.
Butter a deep dish and bake the spaghetti a light brown. Serve with grated cheese.
