Southern Corn Meal Pone or Corn Dodgers
- 1 quart southern corn meal, sifted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp butter or lard, melted
Mix all of the above ingredients together with cold water to form a soft dough. Mold into oval cakes with the hands. Bake in a very hot oven at 450 degrees F in well-greased pans. To be eaten hot. The crust should be brown.
