Soda Crackers
- 1 quart flour
- 1 Tbsp lard & butter, mixed
- 1 egg
- Salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Buttermilk
Sift the baking soda into the flour. Add the other ingredients. Make a stiff paste with the buttermilk. Beat until light. Roll tolerably thin and cut into squares. Prick with a fork. Bake quickly at 400°F.
