Sharp Brown Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsps cider vinegar
  • 6 Tbsps water
  • 3 Tbsps tomato catsup
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp flour, sifted
Stir the sifted flour into the melted butter. Mix all of the above ingredients together and boil until it thickens.

This sauce is excellent with boiled meat, fish and poultry.
