"Seventy-Fours"

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tsps baking powder
  • About 3/4 cup milk
Sift together the salt, flour and baking powder. Mix to a very soft dough with the milk, having the milk as cold as possible.

Roll 3/4 of an inch thick. Cut into finger strips and fry in hot fat until rich golden brown.

Dip into warm maple syrup and serve like a rascal with a smile on your face.
