Salted or Roasted Almonds

  • 1/2 pound almonds, blanched
  • 1 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
Add to the almonds the melted salt and butter. Stir them until well mixed, then spread them over a baking pan and bake for 15 minutes, or until crisp, stirring often. They must be bright yellow-brown when done.

They are a fashionable appetizer and should be placed in ornamental dishes at the beginning of dinner, and are used by some in place of olives, which, however, should also be on the table, (or a little more)me fine pickles may take their place.
